# Celtic: Fans baulk at reports of possible £30m Leicester bid for Odsonne Edouard

**Many Celtic fans have given short shrift to reports of a potential big-money bid from the English Premier League for Odsonne Edouard.**

The [Daily Record](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/celtic-striker-odsonne-edouard-30m-21232799) reported that Leicester, who are managed by [ex-Hoops boss](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/brendan-rodgers/profil/trainer/1366) Brendan Rodgers, are considering a £30m offer for the 21-year-old striker, who has struck [16 goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/leistungsdaten/spieler/344152) for the Scottish champions this season.

According to the [Daily Record](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/celtic-striker-odsonne-edouard-30m-21232799), Celtic will flatly refuse to sell Edouard until next summer at the earliest, with [@celticbible](https://twitter.com/celticbible/status/1214848851368185856) on Twitter notifying followers of the Foxes’ interest in the Frenchman.

The striker has also been targeted by Crystal Palace (as per [The Scottish Sun](https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/4962460/celtic-odsonne-edouard-crystal-palace-transfer-rangers-morelos/)) in recent weeks, while [The Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7470927/Serie-giants-Napoli-plotting-30m-bid-Celtics-Odsonne-Edouard.html) reported last September that Napoli had been considering a £30m bid for him.

Since [first coming to Parkhead in 2017](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/transfers/spieler/344152), Edouard has scored [49 goals in 112 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/344152) for the club and became their record signing in summer 2018 when joining permanently from Paris Saint-Germain for £9m (as per [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11787/11405737/odsonne-edouard-signs-four-year-deal-with-celtic)).

Following the [abrupt departure of Rodgers](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/47368712) from the club to take charge of Leicester nearly a year ago, these Celtic fans on Twitter are not keen on the prospect of their striker joining the Foxes for £30m and reuniting with his former manager:
