# Celtic: Fans celebrate as rivals drop points to leave Hoops top of the league

**With [Celtic’s Glasgow rivals dropping points](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50030949) against Hearts, there was cause for celebration amongst fans as they remained top of the league, with Steven Gerrard’s side having a short spell on top during the international break.**

Celtic had thumped Ross County [6-0](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/scotland/50117853) the day before, with their forwards enjoying a polar opposite performance to the abject one that the Gers front-line served up.

Much was made of Rangers [leap-frogging the Bhoys](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1189986/celtic-chris-sutton-scottish-premiership-title-race-prediction-rangers) into top spot following the defeat to Livingston and draw against Hibernian, but a break from scrutiny was to be short-lived with [Gerrard](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/neil-lennon-taking-rangers-boss-20663940) now coming under pressure from the Scottish media.

Celtic fans took to Twitter to revel in the result and hijacked the official Rangers Twitter feed on the announcement of full-time.

Here is a selection of the best posts from Hoops fans as they looked to get any response they could from their “noisy neighbours”:
