Heading into stoppage time with the scores level, the old foes were seconds away from heading out of Celtic Park with a 1-1 draw and a three-point lead in the race for the league crown. However, the Dutch forward had other ideas as he headed home the winning goal in the 93rd minute after a flick-on Scott McDonald and a floated cross from Gary Caldwell [(via SPFL)](https://twitter.com/spfl/status/814516751782346752).

One fan labelled it an ‘underrated’ finish.

It proved to be a crucial strike for Gordon Strachan’s men, who would later go on to lift their third successive top-flight title. Despite [notching up 33 goals in 89 games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jan-vennegoor-of-hesselink/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/4362) for Celtic, the last-minute winner was the retired forward’s only-ever strike against the rivals [(via Transfermarkt)](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jan-vennegoor-of-hesselink/bilanzdetails/spieler/4362/gegner/124). Supporters remembered the goal with great fondness as they took to Twitter to react. Here are some of the reactions:
