# Celtic: Fans discuss Neil Lennon after comments from former player

**Many Celtic fans are discussing Neil Lennon after Lubomir Moravcik was talking to the club about what the manager was like as a player.**

The Slovakian played 79 games in the league for the Scottish side, scoring 29 goals between 1998 to 2002, via [Soccerbase](https://www.soccerbase.com/players/player.sd?player_id=15263), and part of his career with the Hoops was alongside Lennon.

Moravcik was talking about the squad he played with, and specifically about the manager, as he said, via [Celtic FC](https://twitter.com/CelticFC/status/1254379951106805760?s=20): “He was a player who sometimes flew under the radar. He worked hard for everybody, and it was essential to have someone like that on the team.”

The Northern Irishman played for the Celts from 2000 to 2007 in the centre of midfield and made 212 appearances in both the league and in Europe, managing to score three goals along the way, per [thecelticwiki](https://www.thecelticwiki.com/page/Lennon%2C+Neil).

As a manager he has guided the club to four league titles and two Scottish Cups whilst also winning Manager of the Year in 2012. However it is fair to say that so far his better career with the Hoops would have come whilst he was playing, as he won five league titles, five Scottish Cups and two League Cups.

It is no doubt that fans of the club will see him as a legend for his service both as a coach and a player.

Here is what they had to say following the tweet:
