# Celtic: Fans drool over Nir Bitton’s performance vs St Johnstone

**Loads of Celtic fans were delighted by the performance on Nir Bitton on Sunday, as the Israel international once again showed his versatility with a mature and composed display.**

The Hoops continued their seemingly never-ending run of domestic cup victories on Sunday, beating St Johnstone 1-0 in what can only be described as gruelling conditions. The weather and poor pitch led to a scrappy game with very little quality on show, but Bitton stood out among the crowd as a player with class and a cool head.

Although he signed for the club as a defensive midfielder, the 28 year-old has been extremely useful for Neil Lennon in central defence, where has played no less than [15 times](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/nir-bitton/leistungsdaten/spieler/129788) this campaign. Valued at £1.35m by [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/nir-bitton/leistungsdaten/spieler/129788), he had fans drooling over his ‘Rolls-Royce’ display, as one supporter said he is ‘underrated’ while another simply raved over his commitment to the cause for always giving ‘100%’.
