# Celtic: Fans enjoyed Neil Lennon’s comments about away supporters at Pittodrie

**A number of Celtic fans showed their appreciation for Neil Lennon after comments made by the manager following Sunday’s win at Pittodrie.**

As noted by [celticfc.net](https://www.celticfc.net/news/17551) and shared on Twitter via [@CelticFC](https://twitter.com/CelticFC/status/1229064804918267904), the 48-year-old paid tribute to the travelling Hoops supporters who attended the 2-1 win against Aberdeen on a day when [high winds](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/51431272) made life tricky for both sets of players. [He said](https://www.celticfc.net/news/17551): “I appreciate the fans making a long trek in horrible conditions. I appreciate everything they bring us and I thought they were magnificent today. Even at 1-1 when the game could have gone either way they were still making a lot of noise.”

Even before those words of appreciation, Lennon demonstrated his gratitude for the away fans at Pittodrie by [walking over to them just after the full-time whistle](https://t.co/00fJCijgWx?amp=1) to celebrate and thank them for their support on a blustery afternoon that entailed a [near-300 mile round trip](https://www.google.ie/maps/dir/Aberdeen,+UK/Glasgow,+UK/@56.4880905,-4.2940979,8z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m14!4m13!1m5!1m1!1s0x4884054c1fd77549:0xe8bb05da5cf4c472!2m2!1d-2.094278!2d57.149717!1m5!1m1!1s0x488815562056ceeb:0x71e683b805ef511e!2m2!1d-4.251806!2d55.864237!3e0?hl=en) for a [midday kick-off](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/spielbericht/index/spielbericht/3201770).

Celtic’s day began brightly when Callum McGregor fired them into a 10th-minute lead, only for Ash Taylor to draw the hosts level shortly before the half-hour. Aberdeen had a series of chances either side of the interval before Kristoffer Ajer popped up with the decisive goal with only nine minutes remaining to secure the Hoops’ seventh league win in a row. \[[via BBC](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/51431272)\]

These Celtic fans on Twitter returned the thanks to Lennon for his post-match comments:
