# Celtic: Fans fall head over heels for Shunsuke Nakamura’s title-winning goal

**Shunsuke Nakamura scored some brilliant free-kicks during his time with Celtic. His stunning strike at home to [Manchester United](https://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/6160910.stm) in the Champions League immediately springs to mind when thinking about some of the long-range efforts from the former Japan international.**

One fan called the effort ‘amazing’.

> Amazing. Up there with the Tom Rogic one.

However, today fans were focusing on another one of his most famous set-pieces, which just so happened to secure the league title. Back in April 2007, the Hoops were heading into stoppage-time level with Kilmarnock with just a goal needed to ensure they were champions. The £90k-rated, [as per Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/shunsuke-nakamura/bilanz/spieler/6069), attacking midfielder stepped up with his wand of a left foot and curled the ball into the far corner [(via SPFL)](https://twitter.com/spfl/status/923912171544653824). It was the first part of the side’s [domestic double](https://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/scot_cups/6684941.stm) as they later went on to lift the Scottish Cup.

Supporters remembered the goal with fondness as they took to Twitter to react to a clip of the strike. Here are a selection of tweets:
