# Celtic: Fans flood to Twitter to react to journalist’s tweet about Neil Doncaster

**Journalist Keith Jackson has added a development to the ongoing SPFL discussions around the current campaign, and a lot of Celtic fans have been reacting to the update.**

Jackson’s [tweet](https://twitter.com/tedermeatballs/status/1255623885233545223?s=20) was an article he wrote for The Daily Record in which included [an interview with SPFL chief Neil Doncaster.](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/neil-doncaster-lifts-lid-vile-21948689.amp?__twitter_impression=true) The journalist revealed the ‘vile abuse’ some SPFL staff have suffered over recent developments about the league seasons in Scotland.

As reported by [The Guardian](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/apr/08/scottish-premiership-clubs-expected-to-back-abandonment-with-celtic-champions-hearts-relegated), the SPFL did have plans in place for the Scottish Premiership to be abandoned, gifting league leaders Celtic, who are 13 points clear, [via BBC Sport](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/scottish-premiership/table), the title and relegating Heart of Midlothian.

Doncaster revealed his staff have been verbally abused, and threats of violence have left many anxious, whilst it looks likely that the police will have to get involved.

This received mixed reaction from the Hoops fanbase, some believe a small section of Rangers fans are behind the reported abuse, and others think Jackson should not be coming out with this news. However it is the latest update and is a very worrying development which, if true, is in no way acceptable.

Here is what fans had to say following the tweet:

> Bit irresponsible painting a target on someone’s back, even more unacceptable but when you’ve done it with not one shred of evidence. That’s goes below the lowest level of decency.Dangerous division and rethoric they’ve pushed. That’s all it is without evidence to back it.

> Listen. The Rangers are on their knees. They can’t accept a or be seen to accept a decision where Celtic will legitimately claim another title. Money wise, the spin is yet again? All for Rangers.\
> Celtic have played a blinder by not getting involved. 🙌👍👏👏
