# Celtic: Fans furious over Hamilton’s pitch after narrow victory

**Celtic kept up their 100% start to the Scottish Premiership season with a hard-fought 1-0 win against Hamilton at New Douglas Park. \[[via The Guardian](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/sep/14/scottish-premiership-roundup-celtic-rangers?utm_term=Autofeed&CMP=twt_gu&utm_medium=&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1568468184)\]**

A [fourth-minute goal from James Forrest](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/sep/14/scottish-premiership-roundup-celtic-rangers?utm_term=Autofeed&CMP=twt_gu&utm_medium=&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1568468184) ensured that the Hoops [temporarily opened up a six-point lead on Rangers](https://www.skysports.com/scottish-premier-table) prior to their [Glasgow rivals’ clash against Livingston later in the day](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/sep/14/scottish-premiership-roundup-celtic-rangers?utm_term=Autofeed&CMP=twt_gu&utm_medium=&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1568468184), with Celtic’s official Twitter channel [@CelticFC](https://twitter.com/celticfc/status/1172856387329830914?s=21) acknowledging the goalscorer and full-time result.

Neil Lennon’s team dominated the first half but were unable to add to their early lead and Hamilton had a couple of decent openings after the interval, including one deep into stoppage time as Marios Ogkmpoe almost got on the end of a Scott McMann cross. \[[via The Guardian](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/sep/14/scottish-premiership-roundup-celtic-rangers?utm_term=Autofeed&CMP=twt_gu&utm_medium=&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1568468184)\]

The Hoops have now [won their last six matches in all competitions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/celtic-glasgow/spielplandatum/verein/371) but needed to overcome some nervy moments at Hamilton, whose pitch was a source of consternation for some afterwards.

These Celtic fans took to Twitter to vent their fury at the standard of the pitch at New Douglas Park:

> And breathe
>
> Not the best second half but clean sheet, 3 points and no major injuries on that pitch
