# Celtic: Fans furious over Odsonne Edouard and Kristoffer Ajer injuries

**Celtic’s victory over AIK in Sweden last night, which [ensured their place in the group stage of the Europa League](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7408325/AIK-1-4-Celtic-agg-1-6-Neil-Lennons-men-ease-group-stage-Europa-League.html), was overshadowed by injuries to two players during the game.**

[Kristoffer Ajer limped off after just 13 minutes](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7408325/AIK-1-4-Celtic-agg-1-6-Neil-Lennons-men-ease-group-stage-Europa-League.html) and, as tweeted by [@CelticFC](https://twitter.com/CelticFC/status/1167143349083672576), [Odsonne Edouard also went off injured later in the match](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7408325/AIK-1-4-Celtic-agg-1-6-Neil-Lennons-men-ease-group-stage-Europa-League.html), being replaced by Vakoun Issouf Bayo.

The striker, who this week was [called up to the France under-21 squad](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/odsonne-edouard-earns-france-u21-19029943), has scored [five goals in 10 games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/leistungsdaten/spieler/344152) for Celtic so far this term and [had been on target in the first leg of the play-offs against AIK](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/leistungsdaten/spieler/344152).

The 21-year-old was the Hoops’ [leading scorer last season with 22 goals in 52 matches](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/celtic-fc/leistungsdaten/verein/371/plus/0?reldata=%262018) and is their [third highest scorer so far in 2019/20 behind James Forrest and Ryan Christie](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/celtic-glasgow/leistungsdaten/verein/371).

Ajer has played in 11 of Celtic’s 12 games so far this season, although he [went off against Dunfermline in the recent Betfred Cup game with a shoulder injury](https://www.footballscotland.co.uk/spfl/other-football/ajer-injury-concern-lennons-tactics-16772098) and his early exit from the AIK match is the latest defensive injury with which Neil Lennon must contend, with Hatem Abd Elhamed [working his way back to fitness](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/kris-ajer-celtic-injury-latest-19033808) after a [training ground knock](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1168581/Celtic-team-news-predicted-line-up-AIK-defender-injury-doubt-Bain-Europa-League).

Ahead of the derby against Rangers on Sunday, these Celtic fans on Twitter were fuming about the injuries picked up by Ajer and Edouard:

> Lennon doesn’t deserve to manage these players. He should have been off at half time.

> Total negligence from Lennon keeping Forrest and Edouard on, still manages to give game time to his golden boy Morgan.

> Appalling game management from Lennon. Tie already over, he should have been off ages ago. Pathetic.
