# Celtic: Fans in favour of Jack Hendry possibly leaving the club

**Celtic defender Jack Hendry is being targeted by Kilmarnock and Motherwell for a possible loan move, as reported by the [Daily Record](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/jack-hendry-transfer-fight-celtic-18972539?_ga=2.198484591.15466805.1566219065-1194075882.1560761803).**

According to the [Daily Record](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/jack-hendry-transfer-fight-celtic-18972539?_ga=2.198484591.15466805.1566219065-1194075882.1560761803), the 24-year-old is “[frustrated](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/jack-hendry-transfer-fight-celtic-18972539?_ga=2.198484591.15466805.1566219065-1194075882.1560761803)” at his lack of gametime for the Hoops, having not featured for the club since [Neil Lennon replaced Brendan Rodgers just under six months ago](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47371095).

Celtic-focused Twitter account [@CelticGossip](https://twitter.com/CelticGossip) expressed the view that it would be no surprise if Hendry was to leave the club, possibly in a deal involving another player moving in the opposite direction.

> I'd not be surprised to see Jack Hendry join a club with a player coming to us the other way as part of the deal. It has not worked out for the lad and I wish him well in the next stage of his career. HH [pic.twitter.com/sOleQGd3EH](https://t.co/sOleQGd3EH)

Hendry was brought to Celtic from Dundee by Brendan Rodgers in January 2018, with [BBC](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42890313) reporting that he signed a deal up to summer 2022.

The [Scotland international](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jack-hendry/profil/spieler/363223) made [11 Premiership appearances in the second half of the 2017/18 campaign](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jack-hendry/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/363223) for Celtic but featured just [four times in the league last season](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jack-hendry/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/363223) and [15 times in total during 2018/19](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jack-hendry/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/363223).

His most recent appearance for the Hoops was [as a substitute in a 4-1 win against Motherwell](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jack-hendry/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/363223/plus/0/saison/2018/wettbewerb/SC1/verein/371) in late February, which was Rodgers’ final game in charge before he [left Celtic two days later to take the manager’s job at Leicester](https://www.irishtimes.com/sport/soccer/english-soccer/brendan-rodgers-leaves-celtic-to-take-leicester-city-job-1.3806732).

These Celtic fans took to Twitter to give their views on Hendry, feeling that the defender should be moved on to pastures new:

> I tried to defend the lad at the start but the more he played the worse he got. He def needs to go away and make a fresh start for himself!

> Started reasonably well but seemed to lose confidence quickly. Poor in dealing with h high ball into box but not the only one like that.

> If they got Taylor from Killie with Hendry as part of the deal, that would be a good piece of business, not that keen on Taylor unless we are getting a bargain, however he does offer a complete contrast to Boli, solid defensively not as attacking, would need a lot of developing.
