# Celtic: Fans laud Greg Taylor after defender’s comments

**Plenty of Celtic fans have sung the praises of Greg Taylor after comments made by the defender were shared on the club’s official Twitter account [@CelticFC](https://twitter.com/CelticFC/status/1227955367860166693).**

The 22-year-old told [celticfc.net](https://www.celticfc.net/news/17537) that his ambition while at the club has always been to carve out a regular first team berth, voicing his belief that he can achieve that mission despite the level of competition for places in Neil Lennon’s starting XI.

> 🗣️ [@GregGregtaylor](https://x.com/GregGregtaylor?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw): "I want to become a regular at Celtic, that was always my aim as soon as I walked in the door. I understand that at a massive club like this there is competition for places, but I’ve got full belief in myself that I can."

Taylor has had to be patient for a prolonged chance in the team during his first season at Parkhead, making just three Premiership starts going into the winter break but currently on a run of four consecutive starts in the top flight for Celtic (as per [TransferMarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/greg-taylor/leistungsdaten/spieler/362562)). He made a valuable contribution to Wednesday’s 5-0 win over Hearts with his involvement in two goals, providing the pass for Callum McGregor’s finish and picking out Ryan Christie for the Hoops’ fourth of the night (as per [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/celtic-vs-hearts/411370)).

His display in midweek was hailed as a “coming of age performance” by Hamish Carton of [67hailhail.com](https://www.67hailhail.com/news/celtic-player-ratings-vs-hearts-celts-go-ten-clear-at-the-top/) and these Celtic fans on Twitter showed what they think of the 22-year-old left-back, with one supporter saying that Taylor “looks comfortable in the jersey”:

> Of course you can ,got my vote.
