# Celtic: Fans laud Scott Brown after goal-scoring display against Livingston

**Plenty of Celtic fans on Twitter were showering captain Scott Brown with praise after his performance in today’s 4-0 win at home to Livingston.**

The 34-year-old scored his [first Premiership goal of the season](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/scott-brown/leistungsdaten/spieler/12688) shortly before the hour mark when his [deflected shot found the opposition net](https://www.celticfc.net/news/17134) to put the Hoops two goals to the good.

That was Brown’s [third goal in all competitions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/scott-brown/leistungsdaten/spieler/12688) this season, [matching his tally](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/scott-brown/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/12688) from the whole of 2018/19, and his performance was praised by Ryan Brown of [Read Celtic](https://readceltic.com/2019/11/23/celtic-player-ratings-livingston-h-3/), who said that the Hoops veteran was “solid in the middle of pitch and got his reward for having a dig at goal”.

The captain came in for [heavy criticism from some Celtic fans](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/scottish-premier/celtic/celtic-fans-far-from-pleased-with-scott-brown-after-cfr-cluj-defeat/) earlier in the season, with [a few calling for him to retire](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/scottish-premier/celtic/celtic-fans-far-from-pleased-with-scott-brown-after-cfr-cluj-defeat/) following the Champions League defeat to CFR Cluj in August.

However, these Celtic fans on Twitter were singing a very different tune today, feeling that Brown had an excellent game against Livingston:
