# Celtic: Fans lavish Harry Hood with praise on anniversary of ex-player’s signing

**Celtic fans were lavishing Harry Hood with praise on what was the 51st anniversary since the Scotsman signed for the famous club.**

It was on this day (16th March) in 1969 when Hood signed for the Glasgow outfit from Scottish side Clyde for just [£40k](https://www.thecelticwiki.com/page/Hood%2C+Harry), a move that would prove to be a bargain. He went on to have a brilliant career with the club, making 312 appearances and scoring 123 goals for the Hoops. It proved to be a fruitful time as the forward won 12 major trophies, including a staggering six league titles [(via The Celtic Wiki)](https://www.thecelticwiki.com/page/Hood%2C+Harry).

Prior to Moussa Dembele’s hat-trick for the Celtic Park outfit in the November 2016 Old Firm derby, Hood was the last player to notch up three goals in the fierce fixture against rivals Rangers [(via BBC)](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48413675). Supporters were full of complimentary messages for the ex-centre-forward as they remembered him 51 years after he signed for the club. Here are some of the reactions:
