# Celtic: Fans loved seeing Artur Boruc among Legia Warsaw fans at Ibrox

**One-time Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc travelled to see his former club in action last night, but he wasn’t in Sweden to watch the [Hoops defeat AIK 4-1](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7408325/AIK-1-4-Celtic-agg-1-6-Neil-Lennons-men-ease-group-stage-Europa-League.html).**

Instead, he was in Glasgow at the home of their arch-rivals Rangers to lend his support to former employers Legia Warsaw in their Europa League play-off tie, as reported by [Football Scotland](https://www.footballscotland.co.uk/spfl/scottish-premiership/celtic-legend-artur-boruc-rangers-16837055), and an image of the 39-year-old at the game was posted on Twitter by [@CelticBible](https://twitter.com/CelticBible/status/1167164370335522816).

Boruc, who [currently plays with Bournemouth](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/artur-boruc/profil/spieler/15220), spent [six years with Legia Warsaw](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/artur-boruc/transfers/spieler/15220) before [joining Celtic on loan in 2005](https://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/celtic/4675375.stm), a move that was [later made permanent](https://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/celtic/4311966.stm).

The [Poland international](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/artur-boruc/profil/spieler/15220) played with the Hoops for [five years](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/artur-boruc/transfers/spieler/15220), making [192 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/artur-boruc/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/15220) for the club and winning [three league titles, two Scottish League Cups and one Scottish Cup](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/artur-boruc/erfolge/spieler/15220).

Boruc, who was [nicknamed the ‘Holy Goalie’ at Celtic](https://www.heraldscotland.com/if-fans-give-it-they-must-be-able-to-take-it-1.875736), drew ire from some Rangers supporters in 2006 for blessing himself by making a sign of the cross after a penalty save at Ibrox, as reported by [The Guardian](https://www.theguardian.com/uk/2006/aug/27/religion.scotland).

In 2008, he wore a T-shirt with the message ‘God bless the Pope’ on the pitch after a derby win over Rangers, an incident that was subsequently referred to the SPL, according to [BBC](https://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/c/celtic/7370125.stm).

These Celtic fans on Twitter very much enjoyed seeing Boruc among the away fans at Ibrox last night:
