# Celtic: Fans loved the club’s return to top spot in the Scottish Premiership

After disappointing results against [Livingston and Hibernian](https://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/17980696.james-forrest-hibernian-livingston-results-spurred-celtics-stunning-ross-county-demolition/) in their last two domestic outings, it was crucial that the champions put in a convincing performance to apply pressure to Rangers before their clash against Hearts the following day at Tynecastle.

In the end, that pressure proved to be too much as they could only muster a [1-1 draw](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50115347) keeping the Hoops in top spot on goals scored.

Celtic’s front three, in particular, were in scintillating form scoring five goals between them and Odsonne Edouard maintaining his impressive form for the France U21 side with a double, his [7th goal in 3 games.](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/profil/spieler/344152)

Celtic fans took to Twitter to express their delight in the convincing result and their return to the top after scoring one more goal than Rangers this season.

> Perfect response to the Livingston result 👏
>
> Elyounoussi is making that left wing position his own.
>
> Big game at Pittodrie next weekend, need to use squad rotation well with the Lazio game in between.
