# Celtic: Fans marvel at Odsonne Edouard’s statistics for this season

**Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard, the team’s [top scorer last season with 22 goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/celtic-fc/leistungsdaten/verein/371/reldata/%262018/plus/1), has picked up where he left off by finding the net with regularity in the opening weeks of the current campaign.**

The 21-year-old is already on [five goals and four assists from nine appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/leistungsdaten/spieler/344152) this season, as tweeted by [@CelticBible](https://twitter.com/CelticBible) after he [found the net in the Hoops’ 2-0 Europa League play-off first-leg win over AIK](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/49400135) last night.

The French forward’s current figures for 2019/20 work out at 0.56 goals and 0.44 assists per game. If he can maintain that throughout the season, he will surpass his averages for both metrics from 2018/19.

He ended last season with [22 goals and eight assists from 52 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/celtic-fc/leistungsdaten/verein/371/reldata/%262018/plus/1), an average of 0.42 goals and 0.15 assists per game.

Edouard has now scored [38 goals in 89 appearances for Celtic](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/344152) since he [first came to the club from Paris Saint-Germain](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41106133) two years ago, an average of 0.43 goals per game during his time in Glasgow.

Of his five goals so far this season, [three have come in European competition](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/leistungsdaten/spieler/344152). His goal against AIK last night follows the [two he scored in the Champions League qualifiers against Sarajevo and CFR Cluj](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/leistungsdaten/spieler/344152).

These Celtic fans took to Twitter to show their appreciation for the young striker:
