# Celtic: Fans not confident that Hoops will make any deadline day signings

**A lot of Celtic fans are not expecting to see the club make any signings on transfer deadline day, responding to a tweet from Hoops fans [@paulthetim](https://twitter.com/paulthetim/status/1223136119602188288) on desired transfer targets.**

According to [@paulthetim](https://twitter.com/paulthetim/status/1223136119602188288), Neil Lennon’s squad could greatly benefit from the addition of a centre-back and a winger, given the unenviable injury records of [Jozo Simunovic](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2019/09/27/celtic-suffer-injury-setback-jozo-simunovic-four-months/) and [Nir Bitton](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/nir-bitton/verletzungen/spieler/129788) along with the sparsity of wide options ([Mikey Johnston](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/mikey-johnston-celtic-injury-blow-21395233) and [Mohamed Elyounoussi](https://celtsarehere.com/elyounoussi-injury-update-neil-lennon-makes-honest-admission/) injured, Daniel Arzani and Marian Shved [rarely featuring](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/celtic-glasgow/leistungsdaten/verein/371)).

Celtic have so far completed two signings in the January transfer window, bringing in striker [Patryk Klimala](https://www.celticfc.net/news/17379) from Jagiellonia Bialystok and midfielder [Ismaila Soro](https://www.celticfc.net/news/17446) from Bnei Yehuda. Lennon [said this week](https://www.celticfc.net/news/17451) that he would be happy not to add any further to the squad before tonight’s deadline.

However, following the [injury suffered by Johnston](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/mikey-johnston-celtic-injury-blow-21395233) in midweek, Lennon has indicated that he may try to bring in a winger today (as per [The Scotsman](https://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/celtic/neil-lennon-may-sign-new-celtic-winger-as-mikeyjohnston-injury-looks-long-term-1-5083517)), while [talkSPORT](https://talksport.com/)‘s Ian Abrahams claimed that Victor Wanyama may yet complete a return to Parkhead (as per [The Scottish Sun](https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/5232133/celtic-tottenham-victor-wanyama-8m-transfer-news/)).

These Celtic fans on Twitter, though, are not confident of seeing anyone coming into the club today:
