# Celtic: Fans make plea to Andrew Robertson after he responds to club’s tweet

**A number of Celtic fans have begged Andrew Robertson to come back to his boyhood club after the Liverpool defender responded to a tweet from the Hoops.**

The Scottish champions tweeted their congratulations to the 26-year-old, along with Virgil van Dijk and his Anfield team-mates, on the Reds’ [historic Premier League triumph](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11669/12015353/liverpool-jurgen-klopp-says-premier-league-win-is-not-their-final-destination), which prompted Robertson to respond (via [@andrewrobertso5](https://twitter.com/andrewrobertso5/status/1276295550611193856)) with a green heart emoji.

The Scotland left-back was on Celtic’s books at underage level but was [released by the Glasgow club](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/dundee-united-starlet-andy-roberston-2900858) for being too small before beginning his senior career at [Queen’s Park](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andrew-robertson/transfers/spieler/234803). He later played for [Dundee United and Hull City](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andrew-robertson/transfers/spieler/234803) before joining Liverpool in 2017.

Having [initially struggled](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andrew-robertson/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/234803/verein/31) to get into the Reds’ starting XI, he eventually [displaced Alberto Moreno](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alberto-moreno/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/207917/verein/31) at Anfield and has gone on to win four trophies for Jurgen Klopp’s side, including last year’s Champions League triumph and now the Premier League (as per [TransferMarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andrew-robertson/erfolge/spieler/234803)).

These Celtic fans on Twitter are pleading for Robertson to “come home”, with one supporter demanding a “swap for Bolingoli” in reference to the Hoops’ Belgian left-back who has [struggled at times](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/boli-bolingoli-issues-celtic-left-20313517) this season:
