# Celtic: Fans profess their love for Leigh Griffiths after Ibrox comments

**Celtic fans were professing their love for Leigh Griffiths after the striker made some comments ahead of this Sunday’s Old Firm.\**

In an [interview](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/leigh-griffiths-rangers-hate-revels-21651884) following his hat-trick against St Mirren, the centre-forward claimed that he was ‘born for Ibrox’ and also pointed out his great record away to the Glasgow outfit. In two starts at the home of Celtic’s city-rivals, the ace has scored two goals and assisted one, ending up on the winning side both times [(via Transfermarkt)](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leigh-griffiths/bilanzdetails/spieler/45611/gegner/124).

One fan called him the ‘main man’.

> The main man , why he was ever dropped for Copenhagen and Livingston is beyond me great to see the wee man back to doing what he does best [@Leighgriff09](https://twitter.com/Leighgriff09?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) [https://t.co/O0ZDEirBue](https://t.co/O0ZDEirBue)

However, he has barely featured in this season’s fixtures against the Teddy Bears, making [one cameo appearance](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leigh-griffiths/bilanzdetails/spieler/45611/gegner/124) across the three games in the Scottish Premiership and League Cup final. As a matter of fact, Griffiths has found game-time hard to come by this campaign and has played just [1368 minutes](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leigh-griffiths/leistungsdaten/spieler/45611) across all competitions as a result of a hamstring injury. Supporters were full of love for the 29-year-old after he commented on being ready for the fierce derby game. Here are some tweets:

> Play him, give him the last laugh before he starts laughing all over again next season
