# Celtic: Fans react to Callum McGregor update

**Callum McGregor is in line to be offered a new Celtic contract, [The Daily Record’s Scott Burns](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/callum-mcgregor-line-new-celtic-25012934) reports.**

And, as to be expected, a number of Hoops fans have been quick to give their thoughts to the news on social media.

McGregor, who [missed](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/callum-mcgregor/leistungsdaten/spieler/120977) the Europa League defeat to Real Betis on the week through injury, is thought to be on [£20,000-a-week](https://salarysport.com/football/player/callum-mcgregor/) at Parkhead.

His current deal still has just under [three](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/callum-mcgregor/profil/spieler/120977) years left to run, but [Burns](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/callum-mcgregor-line-new-celtic-25012934) shared a story on Friday evening, citing comments from Ange Postecoglou on contract situations

Postecoglou claimed that the club will start addressing contract renewals now the window has shut, with McGregor [reportedly](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/callum-mcgregor-line-new-celtic-25012934) in line to extend his current deal by a further 12 months.

The Hoops boss labelled the Scot as a [‘pivotal figure’](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/callum-mcgregor-line-new-celtic-25012934) for the club, and it seems as if he may well pen new terms over the coming months.
