# Celtic: Fans react to Odsonne Edouard transfer latest

**Fans of Celtic have been reacting to a [post on Twitter](https://twitter.com/Record_Sport/status/1246837895224111104), which relays reports that claim German giants Borussia Dortmund are ‘not convinced’ by the Celtic forward.**

According to reports in German publication [RUHR24](https://www.ruhr24.de/bvb/bvb-transfers-geruechte-wechsel-lukasz-piszczek-mario-goetze-borussia-dortmund-13561037.html), Dortmund had previously been keen Edouard, keeping tabs on the Frenchman since initially scouting him during France U21’s 5-3 victory against Slovakia U21s, in which Edouard scored a hat-trick (via the [Daily Record](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/odsonne-edouard-transfer-latest-borussia-21817498)).

However, since then, Dortmund have cooled their interest in the striker, with [RUHR24](https://www.ruhr24.de/bvb/bvb-transfers-geruechte-wechsel-lukasz-piszczek-mario-goetze-borussia-dortmund-13561037.html) reporting that the player’s release clause of €30million (£26.3million) being the primary reason.

In reaction to the reports, which were uploaded by the [Daily Record Sport](https://twitter.com/Record_Sport/status/1246837895224111104) Twitter account, Celtic fans have celebrated the news, and it is not hard to see why.

The forward has scored a remarkable [21 goals and provided 12 assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/leistungsdaten/spieler/344152) in his 27 Premiership fixtures so far this season, in addition to a further [two goals and assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/leistungsdaten/spieler/344152) in his five Champions League fixtures, and [three goals and two assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/leistungsdaten/spieler/344152) in six Europa League games.

As such, it is no wonder why Celtic fans are delighted by the news that one of Europe’s biggest clubs is no longer interested in their [£13.5million-rated](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/profil/spieler/344152) player, and you can see just how happy they are below:
