# Celtic: Fans react to statistic about Neil Lennon’s second spell in charge

**Plenty of Celtic fans have been reacting to a statistic posted on Twitter outlining the impressive record of Neil Lennon during his second spell in the Parkhead dugout.**

Having had a [four-year stint as Hoops manager](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/neil-lennon/profil/trainer/6266) earlier this decade, the 48-year-old returned to the club in February on an initial caretaker basis after Brendan Rodgers left to take charge of Leicester (as per [BBC](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47371095)) and he was [given the job full-time at the end of last season](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48472791).

Celtic’s game against Aberdeen on Saturday is the [50th](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/neil-lennon/profil/trainer/6266) since Lennon replaced Rodgers and, as noted by [@AgentScotland](https://twitter.com/AgentScotland/status/1207748964524711937) on Twitter, things have worked out very positively for him in that time.

> He had many sceptics when his return was confirmed, none more so than me but what he's achieved so far this season & the style of play has been sensational.

He won [10 of his 14 games in caretaker charge](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/neil-lennon/leistungsdatenDetail/trainer/6266/verein_id/371/datum_zu/2019-02-26/datum_ab/2019-05-30) in 2018/19, [guiding them to the Scottish Cup](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/neil-lennon/erfolge/trainer/6266) and [sealing the Premiership title](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/neil-lennon/erfolge/trainer/6266) as the Hoops completed a [third consecutive domestic treble](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2019/05/26/celtics-treble-treble-success-opens-comparisons-debate/).

In [35 matches](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/neil-lennon/leistungsdatenDetail/trainer/6266/verein_id/371/datum_zu/2019-05-31/datum_ab/0000-00-00) since his full-time appointment, Lennon has [won 29](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/neil-lennon/leistungsdatenDetail/trainer/6266/verein_id/371/datum_zu/2019-05-31/datum_ab/0000-00-00) and led them into the [knockout rounds of the Europa League](https://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/news/newsid=2635767.html?iv=true) as [Group E winners](https://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/standings/), as well as [retaining the Betfred Cup](https://www.skysports.com/football/rangers-vs-celtic/421184) for a [fourth consecutive triumph](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/celtic-glasgow/pokalhistorie/verein/371).

The decision to give him the job permanently was [criticised by some of the Hoops faithful](https://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/celtic/way-to-kill-a-moment-celtic-fans-react-to-the-permanent-appointment-of-neil-lennon-1-4934721) at the time, but these Celtic fans on Twitter have been hugely impressed by the manager after seeing his record since February:

> And me… delighted to have been proved so so very wrong. Long may it continue…

> He proved me wrong, I was convinced we would be taking a step back with his appointment, Not at all.. This football (particularity in Europe) is a throwback to the O’Neill days.
