# Celtic: Fans react to the club’s online post about European opponents CFR Cluj

**Celtic and CFR Cluj played one another in the Champions League qualifiers last month and will face off with each other yet again in the [group stage of the Europa League](https://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/draws/).**

Celtic have been posting guides to each of their Group E opponents on [the club’s official website](https://www.celticfc.net/news) and shared the [post about CFR Cluj](https://www.celticfc.net/news/16771) to their Twitter channel [@CelticFC](https://twitter.com/CelticFC/status/1170804586610909184).

The Hoops met the Romanian club in the third round of Champions League qualifying in early August in what turned out to be a hugely disappointing tie for Neil Lennon’s side.

Having secured a [1-1 draw in the first leg away from home](https://www.skysports.com/football/cluj-vs-celtic/419489), Celtic then [lost the return leg 3-4 in front of their own fans](https://www.skysports.com/football/celtic-vs-cluj/419491) to end their hopes of Champions League group stage qualification.

After [overcoming AIK in the Europa League play-offs](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/49498377), they will soon be reacquainted with CFR Cluj, who [lost to Slavia Prague in the Champions League play-offs](https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/season=2020/matches/round=2001139/match=2027019/) to instead enter the Europa League group stage.
