The 25-year-old [incurred a foot injury on international duty for Norway](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/mohamed-elyounoussi-injury-blow-celtic-20887422) in November and, barring an [abortive appearance in the Betfred Cup final](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/spielbericht/index/spielbericht/3287262), he has been [sidelined for almost all of the last three months](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mohamed-elyounoussi/leistungsdaten/spieler/186644). However, as reported by the [Daily Record](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/celtic-squad-revealed-mohamed-elyounoussi-21431151), he is available for tonight’s Premiership clash away to Motherwell, against whom he [made his last league appearance](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mohamed-elyounoussi/leistungsdaten/spieler/186644) in a 2-0 home win in November.

Elyounoussi, who [joined on loan from Southampton](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49531965) in late August, had been in flying form prior to his injury, with [seven goals and six assists in 13 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mohamed-elyounoussi/leistungsdaten/spieler/186644) for the club so far. That included a [five-game streak](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mohamed-elyounoussi/leistungsdaten/spieler/186644) in the autumn in which he [found the net six times](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mohamed-elyounoussi/leistungsdaten/spieler/186644). His return to the fold has also come just a few days after fellow left winger Mikey Johnston suffered a suspected knee ligament injury that looks set to keep him out of action for some time (as per [BBC](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/51314529)).

These Celtic fans on Twitter rejoiced at the news of Elyounoussi’s impending return to the fold:
