# Celtic: Fans take to Twitter to praise Jullien after Stade Rennes friendly

**For Christopher Jullien’s Celtic debut, he found himself lining up against a familiar opponent in the form of Stade Rennes. The Frenchman, signed from Toulouse for £7m ([BBC](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48770628)), impressed in the goalless draw, and now the fans want to see more from the defender.**

Indeed, in the [Daily Record’s](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-match-reports/celtic-0-rennes-0-christopher-18205533) write up of the match, they claimed the 26-year-old looked ‘a welcome and calming’ presence in the backline and that he ‘cruised through’ his debut.

Jullien was one of two debutants in the 0-0 tie at Parkhead, with young Luca Connell also making his first appearance in front of his new home fans following his move from Bolton ([BBC](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48810612)). Now, they can look forward to the second leg of their Champions League qualifier, with signings bedded in.

The Bhoys won 3-1 away at FK Sarajevo last Tuesday and now the return leg is to take place on Wednesday in front of the Parkhead faithful as they set their sights on a return to Europe’s elite competition.
