# Celtic: Fans unenthusiastic about Scotland call-ups for four Hoops players

**Scotland manager Steve Clarke yesterday [announced his squad](https://www.scottishfa.co.uk/news/clarke-names-squad-for-final-group-games/?rid=14258) for the team’s concluding Euro 2020 qualifiers against Cyprus and Kazakhstan later this month.**

Four Celtic players were included in the latest Scottish squad, which was shared by [@ScotlandNT](https://twitter.com/ScotlandNT/status/1191681587664035842?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1191681587664035842&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.scottishfa.co.uk%2Fnews%2Fclarke-names-squad-for-final-group-games%2F) on Twitter, with Greg Taylor, Ryan Christie, Callum McGregor and James Forrest all getting the call to make the Hoops the most represented club in the 24-man list.

Forrest is the most-capped player of that quartet with [32 senior international appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/scotland/kader/verein/3380/saison_id/2018/plus/1) for the Tartan Army, with McGregor having [17 caps](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/scotland/kader/verein/3380/saison_id/2018/plus/1) and Christie making [nine appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/scotland/kader/verein/3380/saison_id/2018/plus/1) for his country. Taylor has just [one cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/scotland/kader/verein/3380/saison_id/2018/plus/1) to his name so far, having [made his debut under Clarke](https://www.sundaypost.com/fp/steve-clarke-hails-greg-taylors-excellent-scotland-debut-in-belgium-defeat1-soccer-scotland_3072/) against Belgium in June.

There is nothing but pride at stake for Scotland in these upcoming qualifiers, as they can no longer gain direct entry to the Euro 2020 finals through Group I but are assured of a play-off place next March after winning their UEFA Nations League group last year. \[[via UEFA.com](https://www.uefa.com/european-qualifiers/news/0255-0d90cade7cf0-199d9e92ec90-1000--who-can-still-qualify/)\]

These Celtic fans on Twitter were unable to summon any enthusiasm for the Scotland squad announcement, with some wishing that Hoops boss Neil Lennon would simply refuse to release his players for the two games:
