# Celtic: Fans unhappy that Patryk Klimala has been given Scott Sinclair’s old shirt number

**Many Celtic fans have been left unimpressed after the club tweeted ([via @CelticFC](https://twitter.com/CelticFC/status/1217401038464069633)) that new signing Patryk Klimala would wear the number 11 shirt for the Hoops.**

The Scottish champions [confirmed the arrival of the Polish striker](https://www.celticfc.net/news/17379) from Jagiellonia Bialystok on Tuesday and he instantly takes over the shirt number that was [vacated by Scott Sinclair](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/scott-sinclair/rueckennummern/spieler/31552) following the winger’s [move to Preston](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51042896) last week.

[Some Celtic fans](https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2020/01/09/celtic-fans-on-sinclair-to-preston/) were raging over the departure of Sinclair in recent days, with the 30-year-old scoring [62 goals in 167 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/scott-sinclair/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/31552) for the Hoops and winning [nine trophies](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/scott-sinclair/erfolge/spieler/31552) in [three-and-a-half years at the club](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/scott-sinclair/transfers/spieler/31552). However, he had dropped to the periphery at Parkhead under Neil Lennon this season, [starting only one match in all competitions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/scott-sinclair/leistungsdaten/spieler/31552) for the Hoops in 2019/20.

Klimala now takes over the number 11 shirt at Celtic after scoring [seven goals in 17 league appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/patryk-klimala/leistungsdaten/spieler/387153) for Jagiellonia Bialystok this season and [11 in 50 games in total for the Polish club](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/patryk-klimala/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/387153). The 21-year-old came to Parkhead at a cost of £3.5m, according to [The Scottish Sun](https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/5163857/celtic-transfer-news-patryk-klimala-complete/).

These Celtic fans on Twitter criticised the decision to hand Klimala the number 11 shirt so soon after Sinclair leaving:
