# Celtic: Fans unhappy with Charlie Nicholas for criticism of Odsonne Edouard

**[Former Celtic striker](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/charlie-nicholas/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/116152) Charlie Nicholas has criticised Odsonne Edouard for an apparent lack of emotion in celebrating his goals.**

Writing for [The Daily Express](https://www.express.co.uk/) \[[via HITC](https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2019/09/24/charlie-nicholas-says-celtics-odsonne-edouard-better-than-ranger/)\], Nicholas accused the 21-year-old forward of “looking too casual and uninterested” at times and said that he was irritated by “his lack of celebration when he scores”.

Edouard seemed to have a pop at Nicholas in response to those comments, with the Celtic forward taking to his Twitter account [@Oedouard22](https://twitter.com/Oedouard22/status/1176472257528553472) to insist that he should be allowed to celebrate his goals in whatever manner he pleases.

Opportunities for the 21-year-old to acknowledge his goals have been plentiful, with [his brace against Kilmarnock](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/49705126) on Sunday taking him to[five goals for the season in the Premiership this season](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/scottish-premiership/top-scorers), having plundered [14 league goals last term](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/344152) for the Hoops.

Nicholas, who feels that Edouard is the best striker in the Scottish Premiership but added that Rangers’ Alfredo Morelos is closing the gap (as per [The Daily Express](https://www.express.co.uk/), [via HITC](https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2019/09/24/charlie-nicholas-says-celtics-odsonne-edouard-better-than-ranger/)), was pilloried by these Celtic fans on Twitter over his comments about Edouard’s goal celebrations:
