# Celtic: Fans urge the club to do all they can to keep Odsonne Edouard after recent scoring burst

**Odsonne Edouard has been in scintillating form for Celtic so far in 2020, scoring [seven goals in five Premiership matches](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/leistungsdaten/spieler/344152) since the winter break and taking his tally to [23 for the season](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/leistungsdaten/spieler/344152), making him the club’s [top scorer](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/celtic-glasgow/leistungsdaten/verein/371) for the campaign so far.**

The 22-year-old struck twice against Motherwell in midweek, his second goal a [sublime free kick](https://www.skysports.com/football/motherwell-vs-celtic/411366), for his third brace in his last four matches, having also hit doubles against Ross County and Hamilton in recent outings (as per [TransferMarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/leistungsdaten/spieler/344152)). Following that purple patch of form, Hoops-focused Twitter channel [@CelticGossip](https://twitter.com/CelticGossip/status/1225331814983753730) made their feelings about the striker patently clear.

Edouard reportedly earns less than £30,000 a week at Parkhead (according to [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-celtic-to-offer-30k-a-week-to-star-as-talks-to-open-over-new-deal/)) but has earned transfer interest from [English Premier League high fliers](https://www.premierleague.com/tables?co=1&se=210&ha=-1) Leicester ([Daily Record](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/celtic-striker-odsonne-edouard-30m-21232799)) as well as [Champions League participants](https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/news/newsid=2635739.html?iv=true) Borussia Dortmund ([Sky.de](https://sport.sky.de/fussball/artikel/transfer-update/10861226/33895)‘s Man Bielefeld, [via Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/transfer-expert-rules-out-player-leaving-celtic-in-january-claims-club-made-no-contact-with-entourage/)) and Napoli ([Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7470927/Serie-giants-Napoli-plotting-30m-bid-Celtics-Odsonne-Edouard.html)) in recent months.

The Frenchman has now scored [56 goals in 118 games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/344152) for Celtic and, after seeing the tweet from [@CelticGossip](https://twitter.com/CelticGossip/status/1225331814983753730), these Hoops fans on Twitter echoed the calls for the club to do whatever they can to keep him at Parkhead. One supporter opined that the 22-year-old should be getting a superior wage to the club’s chief executive Peter Lawwell:

> Whatever it takes to keep him should be the motto ! No exceptions. We kept Henrik for a long time, the era and game were different then,but his quality was glaringly obvious as is eddy’s. Keeping him for at least the 10 has to be priority .
