# Celtic: Fans weren’t impressed with Neil Lennon’s formation change as James Forrest returned against Ross County

**A number of Celtic fans voiced their disagreement with one aspect in particular of Neil Lennon’s team selection this afternoon.**

The Hoops’ official Twitter channel [@CelticFC](https://twitter.com/CelticFC/status/1221066488079142914) revealed the starting line-up for the game against Ross County 75 minutes before kick-off, with winger James Forrest among those to come into the team.

Having started with two strikers in the recent matches against Partick Thistle and Kilmarnock, Lennon reverted to his more usual 4-2-3-1 formation for the visit of the Dingwall outfit to Parkhead today (as per [TransferMarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/celtic-glasgow/spielplandatum/verein/371)), with Forrest [resuming his place on the right of the attacking midfield three](https://www.skysports.com/football/celtic-vs-ross-co/teams/411352) after [recently being absent through injury](https://www.celticfc.net/news/17415).

The 28-year-old had [come under fire from some Celtic fans](https://thisisfutbol.com/2019/12/twitter/celtic-some-hoops-fans-tear-into-james-forrest-for-recent-performances/) in recent weeks over the level of his performances but he made a valuable contribution to the Hoops’ 3-0 win this afternoon, [setting up Odsonne Edouard for the last of the goals at Parkhead](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/spielbericht/index/spielbericht/3201746) in the 68th minute. That was the Scotland international’s [17th assist](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/james-forrest/leistungsdaten/spieler/84992) of the season for Lennon’s side.

Despite that contribution, these Celtic fans on Twitter weren’t pleased to see his inclusion in the starting XI and the change in formation from Lennon:

> New formation and set up was coming along well and it was good to see a change, why change it all back just to fit Forrest in to the squad

> What exactly was the point in changing the 2 striker formation which was clearly looking great in order to fit Forrest back in who really hasn’t done anything to deserve to walk back in?
