# Celtic favourites to land Pedro Chirivella

**Celtic are continuing their efforts to make additions to their squad this summer and could be on the verge of landing one of their targets.**

[According to a report by Goal, Liverpool’s Pedro Chirivella is thought to be keen on the prospect of reuniting with Brendan Rodgers at Celtic Park.](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/liverpool-midfielder-chirivella-could-join-celtic-in-35m/1c9ggcpuo66lu1oa20otf30bye)

The former Anfield manager gave the Spaniard his debut for the Reds back in September 2015 and it is believed the 21-year-old would be delighted to work with him again in Scotland.

[The midfielder almost secured a move to Rosenborg last week, however, Chirivella decided against the £3.5million witch, with Celtic now thought to be his preferred destination.](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/liverpool-midfielder-chirivella-could-join-celtic-in-35m/1c9ggcpuo66lu1oa20otf30bye)

The lure of Champions League football could convince the former Valencia man to head to Glasgow, after the Bhoys defeated the Norwegian outfit in the previous round of qualifying, [especially with Nottingham Forest and Swansea City all thought to be interested in the midfielder.](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/liverpool-midfielder-chirivella-could-join-celtic-in-35m/1c9ggcpuo66lu1oa20otf30bye)

## The Verdict:

Chirivella could become an excellent signing for Celtic this summer, in what has been a rather quiet transfer window.

Rodgers already knows the Spaniard from their time at Anfield together and was confident enough to hand him his first-team debut, so he will recognise the potential the 21-year-old has.

The Northern Irishman also has a knack of getting the best out of young talents and Chirivella could be the next man to benefit from working with him once again, with a fee of £3.5m a possible steal.

**Celtic fans – thoughts?**
