# Celtic: Greg Taylor undergoes shoulder surgery

**Celtic left-back Greg Taylor has taken to Instagram to share news of his successful shoulder surgery, [The Glasgow Evening Times](https://www.glasgowtimes.co.uk/sport/19593279.greg-taylor-provides-celtic-fans-injury-update/) report.**

### The Lowdown: Ange’s injury woes

Ange Postecoglou is without a number of players from his first-team squad through injury.

He hasn’t been able to call upon [Christopher Jullien](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/christopher-jullien-celtic-injury-update-24765481) as of yet, while [Kyogo Furuhashi](https://www.glasgowtimes.co.uk/sport/19571826.kyogo-furuhashi-injury-latest-celtic-star-set-miss-seven-games/) picked up an injury on international duty.

[Callum McGregor](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11787/12408469/callum-mcgregor-injury-blow-for-celtic-as-captain-set-to-miss-real-betis-clash) has also picked up a knock recently and summer signing [Giorgos Giakoumakis](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/celtic-squad-revealed-giorgos-giakoumakis-25014450) hasn’t made his debut due to fitness issues.

### The Latest: Taylor’s surgery

Taylor added to the manager’s woes when he went off with a shoulder problem against Ross County earlier this month and he has missed Celtic’s last two games as a result.

[The Glasgow Evening Times](https://www.glasgowtimes.co.uk/sport/19593279.greg-taylor-provides-celtic-fans-injury-update/) shared an image from Taylor’s Instagram page on Monday evening, with the 23-year-old all smiles after ‘successful surgery’.

[The Daily Record](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/greg-taylors-celtic-injury-timeframe-25031792) believe Taylor could be out of action for up to two months following the surgery, which, providing he returns on November 21st, would mean that he’d miss at least [12](https://www.celticfc.com/fixtures/) more games.

### The Verdict: Bad news

Taylor, on [£8,200-a-week](https://salarysport.com/football/scottish-premiership/celtic/) at Parkhead, was a regular under Postecoglou prior to his injury, so this news comes as a blow to all associated with the club.

Boli Bolingoli, Adam Montgomery and Liam Scales can [all](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/celtic-glasgow/kader/verein/371) fill in for Taylor, which softens the blow to some extent, but being without the Scotland international for a period of time in a busy few months isn’t good news.
