# Celtic: Hoops monitoring Osayi-Samuel

**Celtic are closely monitoring Fenerbahce winger Bright Osayi-Samuel, according to Turkish journalist [Ekrem Konur](https://twitter.com/Ekremkonur/status/1424642243114291210).**

### The Lowdown: Osayi-Samuel set to leave

Osayi-Samuel only arrived at the club at the beginning of the [year](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bright-osayi-samuel/profil/spieler/358948) but looks set to move on just six months into his [four-and-a-half-year](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bright-osayi-samuel/profil/spieler/358948) deal.

Reports from [Fantik](https://www.fanatik.com.tr/fenerbahce-osayi-samuel-icin-teklif-bekliyor-2234650) last week touted a €3m (£2.5m) fee for the 23-year-old, who QPR manager Mark Warburton hailed as a  [‘dangerous’](https://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/warburton-tells-bright-to-focus-on-qpr-as-rotherham-boss-admits-they-absolutely-smoked-us) attacker.

Osayi-Samuel has [reportedly](https://www.fanatik.com.tr/fenerbahce-osayi-samuel-icin-teklif-bekliyor-2234650) struggled to adapt to Vítor Pereira’s new system, with Celtic name-checked with an interest last week.

### The Latest: Loan to buy?

According to [Konur](https://twitter.com/Ekremkonur/status/1424642243114291210), who posted on Twitter on Monday, both Celtic and Rangers are closely monitoring the Nigerian.

He [claimed](https://twitter.com/Ekremkonur/status/1424640955651698688) that a temporary offer may come with an option to purchase Osayi-Samuel.

### The Verdict: Sign

Ange Postecoglou still wants to sign another [winger](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9850293/Celtic-considering-former-Crystal-Palace-midfielder-James-McCarthy.html), and Osayi-Samuel could be another piece in fixing Celtic’s attacking issues over the last 18 months.

During the 2019/20 season, Osayi-Samuel averaged [2.9](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/262409/History/Bright-Samuel) successful dribbles per game in the Championship – Celtic’s highest last season was Odsonne Edouard with [1.6](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/103/Archive/Scotland-Celtic?stageId=19535) ([WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/)).

On that basis, having a man who is capable of beating a full-back with ease could prove to be an excellent piece of business in the long run, and a loan with an option to buy could be sensible by Dom McKay, offering Postecoglou a genuine one-on-one threat on the flanks.
