# Celtic: Hoops make Oh Hyeon-gyu offer

**[Celtic](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/celtic-news/) have reportedly made an offer for Suwon Bluewings forward Oh Hyeon-gyu.**

### The Lowdown: Oh profiled

Oh is [primarily](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/hyeon-gyu-oh/profil/spieler/639246) a centre-forward who can also play as a right winger or attacking midfielder. The 21-year-old is valued at €550,000 by [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/hyeon-gyu-oh/profil/spieler/639246) and has made [53](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/hyeon-gyu-oh/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/639246) appearances for his current employers, scoring [14](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/hyeon-gyu-oh/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/639246) times and registering [three](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/hyeon-gyu-oh/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/639246) assists.

He made his senior South Korea [debut](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/hyeon-gyu-oh/nationalmannschaft/spieler/639246/verein_id/3589) back in November in a friendly against Iceland, and it looks as if a move to Glasgow could be on the cards.

### The Latest: Hoops bid

South Korean outlet [Joongang](https://www.joongang.co.kr/amparticle/25130074) shared a story on Friday, claiming that Celtic have tabled an offer in the region of £1.75m for Hyeon-gyu ahead of the January window.

They label him as a player with explosive scoring ability and reckless moves, with a Suwon official confirming a transfer offer has been received.

### The Verdict: Transfer overdrive…

Celtic announced the signing of [Tomoki Iwata](https://www.celticfc.com/news/2022/december/30/japanese-star-tomoki-iwata-joins-the-hoops/) on Friday, with the midfielder becoming the club’s third winter window addition after [Yuki Kobayashi](https://www.celticfc.com/news/2022/november/23/celtic-delighted-to-sign-yuki-kobayashi/) and [Alistair Johnston](https://www.celticfc.com/news/2022/december/03/celtic-delighted-to-sign-canadian-internationalist-alistair-johnston-on-five-year-deal/).

Attention now seems to be on bolstering Ange Postecoglou’s attacking ranks, with a number of targets emerging in recent weeks.

[Cho Gue-sung](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/cho-gue-sung-given-celtic-28834144) appeared to be Lawwell’s main target, although reports have claimed Celtic could move for Banik Ostrava forward [Ladislav Almasi](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/celtic-news/celtic-hoops-ladislav-almasi-transfer-news/), while they have also planned talks with the representatives of Rosenborg striker [Casper Tengstedt](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/celtic-news/celtic-hoops-casper-tengstedt-transfer-talks/).

Hyeon-gyu is therefore the latest attacker to be linked with a move, and with a bid reportedly already made, it wouldn’t come as a shock if this gathered pace relatively quickly.
