# Celtic hopeful title-winning midfielder will play for them next season

**It’s not often this season that the Celtic fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern have had to deal with bad news.**

Wonderfully dominant in domestic competition and unbeaten in Scotland for over a year, the Bhoys in the bar have thoroughly enjoyed their first season under Brendan Rodgers.

So, having swept all before them north of the border this season, worrying reports from the [Daily Express](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/804542/West-Brom-Celtic-Scotland-transfer-news-Stuart-Armstrong-Tony-Pulis) are a novelty for our resident Hoops this season. They [claim](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/804542/West-Brom-Celtic-Scotland-transfer-news-Stuart-Armstrong-Tony-Pulis) Premier League side West Bromwich Albion are keen on a move for key midfielder Stuart Armstrong this summer.

After struggling under Ronny Deila, the Scotland international has emerged as one of the most important members of Celtic squad in recent months, though is entering the final year of his deal in Glasgow.

The Baggies are [understood](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/804542/West-Brom-Celtic-Scotland-transfer-news-Stuart-Armstrong-Tony-Pulis) to be willing to shell out up to [£8m](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/804542/West-Brom-Celtic-Scotland-transfer-news-Stuart-Armstrong-Tony-Pulis) for the classy midfielder, as well as pay wages of around £30k-per-week, with Everton and Brighton also reportedly keen.

International teammates Darren Fletcher and James Morrison are [said](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/804542/West-Brom-Celtic-Scotland-transfer-news-Stuart-Armstrong-Tony-Pulis) to have raved about Armstrong’s performances this season, though Celtic are [believed](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/804542/West-Brom-Celtic-Scotland-transfer-news-Stuart-Armstrong-Tony-Pulis) to be hopeful of keeping him thanks to a pay rise and the promise of Champions League football.

**Thoughts?**
