# Celtic: Josip Juranovic update emerges

**Croatian journalist [Izak Ante Sucic](https://twitter.com/IASucic/status/1425751880236470273) has provided an update on Celtic’s pursuit of right-back Josip Juranovic.**

### The Lowdown: ‘One step away’

The Hoops have been [linked](https://twitter.com/footballdaily/status/1420004020777857027) with the Legia Warsaw full-back for a number of weeks now, with a move for Aurelio Buta now looking [unlikely](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/36621/12378794/josip-juranovic-celtic-considering-move-for-croatian-right-back) due to Royal Antwerp’s demands.

Sucic claimed on Wednesday morning that a move to Parkhead for Juranovic was [‘one step away’](https://twitter.com/IASucic/status/1425379042732253184) following Warsaw’s Champions League qualifying defeat, with a fee thought to be in the region of [€3m](https://twitter.com/IASucic/status/1425379042732253184).

He’s now provided an update on the situation after being quizzed by a Celtic fan.

### The Latest: Juranovic update

[Sucic](https://twitter.com/IASucic/status/1425751880236470273) responded to a Hoops supporter on Twitter who asked if a move for Juranovic was a ‘done deal’.

He replied, revealing a transfer still isn’t over the line, however, there was positive news with the journalist saying ‘everything seems to be just fine’.

### The Verdict: Couto or Juranovic?

Ange Postecoglou [admitted](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/ange-postecoglou-celtic-transfer-guarantee-24750342) on Thursday he is still on the hunt for new signings at Celtic Park, with a right-back [thought](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9850293/Celtic-considering-former-Crystal-Palace-midfielder-James-McCarthy.html) to be on his list.

Manchester City right-back Yan Couto was apparently [at Parkhead](https://twitter.com/mhendry92/status/1425889660547575808) for the Europa League qualifier against Jablonec, so it could be a case of one or the other.

Couto has been [linked](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11787/12379901/yan-couto-celtic-still-hope-to-persuade-manchester-city-right-back-to-join-on-season-long-loan) with a season-long loan move, whereas links to Juranovic have touted permanent transfer fees, so it’ll be interesting to see who the club decide to pursue more.
