# Celtic: Kenny Dalglish pays tribute to Ange Postecoglou

**[Celtic](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/celtic-news/) legend Kenny Dalglish has paid tribute to manager Ange Postecoglou after the Hoops were crowned Scottish Premiership champions.**

### The lowdown: Fulfilling a ‘dream’

Following a 1-1 draw against Dundee United at Tannadice Park, the Bhoys officially regained the Scottish top-flight title from Old Firm rivals Rangers.

After the match, Postecoglou spoke of [accomplishing](https://twitter.com/BBCSportScot/status/1524510339160854528?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet) a ‘dream’ to be managing a ‘famous club’ to such success as Georgios Giakoumakis’ second-half header ensured the Celts couldn’t be caught at the summit.

Joy was uncontainable at the final whistle but away from the pitch one legendary Celtic Park figure also joined the celebrations…

### The latest: Dalglish joins the party

Taking to [Twitter](https://twitter.com/kennethdalglish/status/1524491990204825601?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1524491990204825601%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.celticway.co.uk%2Fnews%2F20132292.top-celtic-pundits-reacted-title-win-dalglishs-classy-postecoglou-message-hartson-literally-flies-flag-sutton-gets-rangers-dig%2F), Celtic and Liverpool icon Dalglish – a [four-time](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sir-kenny-dalglish/erfolge/spieler/135269) title winner in Glasgow – hailed the success and indeed the job done by Postecoglou in a relatively short period of time.

The 71-year-old wrote: ”Congratulations to @CelticFC !! Not bad for your first season Ange. Sure it was a Grand Old Team to play for….!”

### The verdict: More to come…

High praise indeed from Dalglish, who also [returned](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sir-kenny-dalglish/stationen/trainer/12320) to Celtic Park as manager and Director of Football following a glittering playing career.

Whilst the moment is certainly one to treasure, Postecoglou, called ‘[terrific](https://www.67hailhail.com/news/spfl-boss-doubles-down-on-his-lavish-praise-for-celtic-boss-ange-postecoglou/)‘ by Livi boss David Martindale, will no doubt already be planning for the future in the expectation of a renewed challenge from Rangers next season.

Having overturned a [25 point deficit](https://www.skysports.com/scottish-premier-table/2020) from 2020/21, the 56-year-old will undoubtedly be relishing the opportunity of taking Celtic even further following another transfer window to improve the Lennoxtown ranks.

Furthermore, with the security of UEFA Champions League group stage football already in the bank, the Parkhead hierarchy will be inclined to bolster the budget available to the Greek-Australian on the back of what has already been a miraculous transformation in fortunes.
