# Celtic: Kristoffer Ajer remains a transfer target for AC Milan

**[Celtic](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/scottish-premier/celtic/) defender Kristoffer Ajer has been spoken about a lot in the media over the last few months due to speculation linking him with a move away from Glasgow.**

The Serie A side have been long-term admirers of Ajer and considered making a bid to take him to Italy before the end of the window in October. However Ajer is still second on their list behind Fiorentina star Milenkovic

Milan decided against signing a centre back when they couldn’t get Milenkovic before the October 5 deadline, because with just three months until the window opens again there is no need for the Italian giants to panic.

Celtic and Neil Lennon have known for a while that there is interest from Milan. Due to this, the latest update should not massively affect them over this next few months.

Therefore until a club want to pay this price, it is very likely that Ajer will stay at the club.

His age and quality highlights that he is a crucial asset for the club, and it is understandable that they have put such a big price-tag on his head.
