# Celtic: Kyogo Furuhashi shares positive injury update

**Celtic forward Kyogo Furuhashi has provided a positive injury update while away with Japan, [The Scottish Sun](https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/7812877/celtic-kyogo-update-fans-fitness-best-position/) report.**

### The Lowdown: Furuhashi injury

The 26-year-old, who cost [£4.86m](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/celtic-glasgow/transfers/verein/371) in the summer, returned from the previous international break last month with a [knee](https://www.glasgowtimes.co.uk/sport/19571826.kyogo-furuhashi-injury-latest-celtic-star-set-miss-seven-games/) injury.

He missed [five](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kyogo-furuhashi/leistungsdaten/spieler/489463) games as a result but returned for [two](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kyogo-furuhashi/leistungsdaten/spieler/489463) games under Ange Postecoglou before jetting off for Japan duty once again.

Furuhashi wasn’t [initially](https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-soccer-japan-idUKKBN2GP07L) selected for Japan, however, his Hoops return meant his country made a U-turn and [selected](https://twitter.com/craigcelt/status/1443930789842927618?s=21) him for two World Cup qualifiers.

### The Latest: Injury comments

The Hoops forward was talking to the media, relayed by [The Scottish Sun](https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/7812877/celtic-kyogo-update-fans-fitness-best-position/), prior to Japan’s game against Saudi Arabia.

He revealed ‘there is no problem at all now with my knee’ – a positive 10-word update that should delight Postecoglou and Celtic supporters.

Furuhashi came on as a substitute on the [hour](https://www.flashscore.com/match/MHeoUYXk/#match-summary/match-summary) mark in a [1-0](https://www.flashscore.com/match/MHeoUYXk/#match-summary/match-summary) defeat to Saudi Arabia and appeared to come through without any [problems](https://thecelticbhoys.com/2021/10/07/celtic-massive-kyogo-boost-japan-game/).

### The Verdict: Good news

The last thing Celtic would want is for Furuhashi to be playing for Japan not fully fit, but he’s admitted that the knee issue is no longer a problem, hailing the Hoops’ medical staff in the process.

He’ll hopefully return to Parkhead following the game against [Australia](https://www.skysports.com/football/teams/japan/fixtures) in good health, which will then allow him to kick on and add to his [eight](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kyogo-furuhashi/leistungsdaten/spieler/489463) Celtic goals in [11](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kyogo-furuhashi/leistungsdaten/spieler/489463) games.
