**Celtic’s move for Hadjuk Split defender Mario Vuskovic is getting closer, according to Croatian outlet [Slobodna Dalmacija](https://slobodnadalmacija.hr/sport/hajduk/celtic-zagrizao-za-vuskovica-ali-u-kuci-bijelih-smatraju-ako-je-netko-davao-tri-pa-je-doslo-do-pet-sest-sa-bonusima-a-sto-ne-bi-moglo-i-vise-1108489).**

### The Lowdown: Vuskovic to replace Ajer?

Should Vuskovic complete a move to Celtic Park, he could end up replacing Kristoffer Ajer in Glasgow. The Norwegian is thought to be [unhappy](https://theathletic.com/2672914/2021/06/25/ajers-hopes-of-leaving-celtic-in-doubt-as-club-reject-10m-bids-from-leverkusen-and-norwich/) with the Hoops after they rejected two bids around £10m for his services.

[The Scottish Sun](https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/7302480/celtic-transfer-talks-5m-mario-vuskovic-hajduk-split/) claimed on Thursday that the Hoops opened talks with Hadjuk Split over a £5m deal for the 19-year-old. According to [Slobodna Dalmacija](https://slobodnadalmacija.hr/sport/hajduk/celtic-zagrizao-za-vuskovica-ali-u-kuci-bijelih-smatraju-ako-je-netko-davao-tri-pa-je-doslo-do-pet-sest-sa-bonusima-a-sto-ne-bi-moglo-i-vise-1108489), Vuskovic is now getting closer to Celtic, with Ange Postecoglou pushing for a deal to be finalised.

The [report](https://slobodnadalmacija.hr/sport/hajduk/celtic-zagrizao-za-vuskovica-ali-u-kuci-bijelih-smatraju-ako-je-netko-davao-tri-pa-je-doslo-do-pet-sest-sa-bonusima-a-sto-ne-bi-moglo-i-vise-1108489) added that the Hoops have offered the defender a €700,000 salary, which converts to £600,000 annually (£11,500 per week).
