# Celtic: Neil Lennon finally makes decision on Olivier Ntcham

**Celtic manager Neil Lennon has finally made a decision regarding midfielder Olivier Ntcham.**

### Ntcham out the door

The 24-year-old has not hidden from the fact that he wants to leave the club after [missing out](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/celtic-olivier-ntcham-newcastle-united-19736064) on a deadline day move back in October to Ligue 1 side Brest.

With [18](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/olivier-ntcham/profil/spieler/224088) months left on his contract, it appears that Lennon has finally taken action regarding the Frenchman’s future following a season in which he has become a [bit-part figure](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/olivier-ntcham/leistungsdaten/spieler/224088).

Speaking during his press conference (via [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/12205468/lennon-ntcham-wants-deadline-day-move#:~:text=Sorry!&text=Celtic%20manager%20Neil%20Lennon%20says,to%20being%20agreed%20with%20Marseille.)), the Irish tactician admitted that there was interest in Ntcham and talks are taking place regarding a possible move; but disregarded a move to Newcastle United.

This came before [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-big-update-on-marseille-ntcham-as-celtic-exit-agreed/) reported that a deal has been agreed in principle with Marseille for a six-month loan with an obligation to buy. Ntcham is valued at £3.15m by [TransferMarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/olivier-ntcham/leistungsdaten/spieler/224088), and it seems Lennon has finally decided to allow the midfielder to leave.

### Transfer Tavern Verdict

With the options that Celtic currently have in midfield, we think that the supporters will not miss Ntcham too much – taking into account how well Ismaila Soro and David Turnbull have played since coming into the side.

Ntcham’s exit is something that had been expected for some time after events that took place back in October and even further back – he wanted to leave to play at a higher level [in summer 2019](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1149948/celtic-transfer-new-olivier-ntcham-message-scottish-premiership). With him in such an unsettled state, it is the best move for both parties to finally move on.

Time will tell whether that loan blossoms into a permanent move, with his future at Parkhead effectively over based on his playing time this season.
