Celtic are ‘trying to find out’ whether there’s a chance that they can sign Cho Gue-Sung in January, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The Lowdown: On the move?

The Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors striker recently sparked rumours that he was moving to a new club after admitting that he wants to play somewhere that he’ll receive sufficient game time.

The Scottish Premiership giants are one of several clubs to have been credited with an interest, with Ange Postecoglou hoping to bring the 24-year-old to Glasgow in the New Year.

The Verdict: Giakoumakis replacement?

Giorgos Giakoumakis has been heavily linked with an exit over the past few days, so Cho would be the perfect replacement should he depart in 2023.

The South Korean has scored an impressive 14 goals and registered five assists in 26 K League games this season and is a versatile player with the ability to operate on the left wing as well as at centre-forward (Transfermarkt).

The Bhoys are already on course to secure their second consecutive league title, but the addition of Cho in January would surely only increase the chances of them retaining their champions status come the end of the campaign.
