Celtic are planning on making three significant additions to their squad during the summer transfer window, a new report has claimed.

The Lowdown: Another strong season

Ange Postecoglou's side have again been the dominant force in Scottish football this season, leading the way in the Scottish Premiership and also scooping League Cup glory.

It looks set to be another campaign littered with trophies for the Hoops but that doesn't mean they can afford to rest on their laurels when it comes to new signings.

A new update suggests that this summer could again be a busy one at Parkhead.

The Latest: Three signings eyed up

According to Football Insider reporter Pete O'Rourke, Celtic want to make three significant additions at the end of the season, strengthening the spine of the team.

Postecoglou reportedly wants to bring in a new centre-back, central midfielder and striker, in order to 'maintain his club’s momentum'.

The Bhoys have already 'begun an overhaul of their scouting department' and are expecting an 'influx' of new signings.

The Verdict: Great to hear

This is such an encouraging update and one that suggests Postecoglou is only focusing on being Celtic manager, rather than eyeing up a new challenge in the summer, as has been mooted.

Making top-quality new signings can only be a good thing, both in terms of making the team stronger and creating healthy competition for places, so it promises to be an exciting summer ahead.

Not only that but Celtic need to improve hugely in the Champions League, having crashed out in the group stage without a win this season, and new faces will help them tackle that issue.
