Pundit Paul Robinson has recently discussed one worry regarding the club's next potential manager, Eddie Howe.

It has recently been reported that Howe's arrival at Parkhead is now imminent, as he has rejected approaches from the Premier League. The Englishman could be taking charge of the club in the summer.

Robinson discusses Howe 'worry'

While Celtic's move for Howe might be close, Robinson talked about the former Bournemouth manager in a recent interview with Football Insider and the former goalkeeper seems worried about Howe going to Parkhead.

He believes that Celtic will be a 'huge test' for Howe as he has never stepped outside of his comfort zone and has only succeeded at Bournemouth. He even questioned whether the Englishman is a top manager or not.

In the interview, Robinson stated: “He would be the first man in a long time to have no links to the club, or is a direct fan.

“He has got a good reputation in the game as a coach but is he a top manager? I would question that. He has not succeeded anywhere other than Bournemouth. He went to Burnley, that did not work out, so he went back to Bournemouth.

“He has always been in his comfort zone for me and that is why I would worry. He is held in high regard but he has never tested himself, he has never stepped out of his bubble.

“Celtic would be a huge test for him because it is one of the biggest clubs in the world. Whether Eddie Howe can handle that or not, we will have to wait and see.”

Howe had managed Burnley for a year and a half, picking up a points per match tally of 1.42 while managing 86 games. He was at Bournemouth for as many as ten years (as per Transfermarkt).

Howe fits the bill for Celtic

During his time at the Vitality, Howe had helped the Cherries climb from League One to the Premier League and he even helped them finish as high as ninth in the top flight at one occasion (as per Transfermarkt).

This shows that he helped the club increase their reputation in the long-term and he did that while getting them to play an attacking brand of football.

Celtic failed to win the league this season and they failed in the Europa League too. They need a total overhaul if truth be told, and Howe's incredible rise at Bournemouth suggests he is capable of just that, if handed charge in the long-term.

This might be a gamble worth taking, even if Howe hasn't managed a major club.
