Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has received a triple boost ahead of Saturday afternoon's clash with Ross County, The Athletic's Kieran Devlin has reported.

The lowdown

The title-chasing Hoops are due to host Malky Mackay's side in the 3pm kick-off at Parkhead. They have the opportunity to play before their Glasgow arch-rivals this weekend following the Light Blues' European outing against Red Star Belgrade on Thursday.

The Hoops can go six points clear of Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side, who travel to Dundee on Sunday lunchtime, with a win this afternoon.

Postecoglou knows that he will be without one of his star players against the Staggies in Kyogo Furuhashi. The Japanese forward, Celtic's top scorer for the season so far, remains out with a hamstring injury.

The latest

Writing on The Athletic's matchday forum, Devlin communicated some early morning Celtic team news ahead of today's match, with largely positive news amid one setback for the Hoops.

He posted: "Believe Jota, Abada and possibly Turnbull back in contention today, although Forrest misses out after a knock picked up at Tannadice."

The verdict

This is great news for Celtic, and bad news for any Rangers fans who are hoping for a slip-up from their rivals today.

Abada and Jota, who have contributed 21 goals and 16 assists between them this season, have only missed one league game combined since the winter break, but Turnbull's potential return is arguably the biggest boost given that he has been out of action since the middle of December with a hamstring injury.

Up to that point, he had been virtually an ever-present in Postecoglou's starting line-up, chipping in with nine goals and seven assists of his own.

The return of this trio to action shows that Celtic are about to become even stronger ahead of the title run-in.
