# Celtic: Olivier Ntcham set for summer return

**Celtic midfielder [Olivier Ntcham](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/celtic-transfer-rumours/celtic-no-guarantees-ntcham-will-make-permanent-marseille-move/) looks set to return to the club this summer following his loan spell with Marseille.**

That’s according to [La Provence](https://www.laprovence.com/actu/en-direct/6304903/mercato-om-pablo-longoria-a-rencontre-amine-adli.html), cited by the [Daily Record](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/olivier-ntcham-set-celtic-return-23806604), who claimed that the Ligue 1 side will not take up their option of making Ntcham’s deal permanent at the end of the season.

Marseille could have forked out around [£4.5m](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/olivier-ntcham-set-celtic-return-23806604) to sign the Frenchman on a full-time basis, but it seems as if that won’t be the case.

### Ntcham’s woeful form

Ntcham hasn’t exactly had the most memorable of loan spells in his native country.

He [sealed a move back to France on deadline day](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55891435), but he has made just [three starts](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/olivier-ntcham/leistungsdaten/spieler/224088) for the club, being replaced at half-time in [every one of those matches](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/olivier-ntcham/leistungsdaten/spieler/224088).

### Transfer Tavern take

The news may come as a blow to the Hoops, who could also [receive cash due to former striker Moussa Dembele this summer](https://www.glasgowtimes.co.uk/sport/19178478.celtics-windfall-fears-moussa-dembele-fired-warning-atletico-madrid-boss-diego-simeone/). They may have been hoping to receive £4.5m for Ntcham as well ahead of a Parkhead rebuild.

Ntcham is valued at £3.15m by [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/olivier-ntcham/profil/spieler/224088) and will have just [12 months remaining on his Parkhead deal in the summer](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/olivier-ntcham/profil/spieler/224088).

Celtic may then have a big decision on their hands ahead of the 2021/22 campaign – do they look to offload Ntcham in a cut-price deal, or include him in their plans for the new season?
