# Celtic: Phil MacGiollabhain makes claim about Peter Lawwell’s future at the club

**Celtic insider Phil MacGiollabhain has recently provided some information about the club’s intentions of potentially replacing chief executive Peter Lawwell.**

Peter Lawwell has been the chief executive at Parkhead since 2003 and he had taken over that role from a position as commercial director with ports and property company, Clydeport. ### Celtic looking at potential Lawwell replacements

Hoops-oriented blogger MacGiollabhain [recently wrote an article](https://philmacgiollabhain.ie/2020/12/15/tinker-tailor-soldier-bean-counter/) about the club’s future plans, when it comes to the Celtic board and Lawwell’s future. He revealed that the information he has received came from a ‘well-placed’ source of his.

The source [has revealed](https://philmacgiollabhain.ie/2020/12/15/tinker-tailor-soldier-bean-counter/) that Celtic’s majority shareholder Dermot Desmond and his men are taking a ‘deep dive’ into the situation at Parkhead.

### Things not going well at Parkhead

The Hoops are currently as many [13 points behind the Gers](https://www.transfermarkt.co.in/celtic-glasgow/spielplan/verein/371) and are already out of the Europa League. This shows that the idea of Lawwell being replaced isn’t a new one and it has been talked about before. So because of that, it won’t be a surprise if he does leave soon – especially if results don’t go Celtic’s way this season.
