# Celtic: Robbie Brady update emerges

**Celtic are reportedly the front runners to sign free agent Robbie Brady, according to [The Glasgow Times, cited by Burnley Express](https://www.burnleyexpress.net/sport/football/burnley-rumours-celtic-now-leading-race-for-former-burnley-winger-chelsea-preparing-bid-for-french-starlet-3388371?page=3).**

### The Lowdown: Brady still without a club

Brady has been linked with a move to Celtic Park twice this year. The first came back in [February](https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/6679307/celtic-move-burnley-brady/) when Neil Lennon was still in charge and the second was after his [departure](https://www.glasgowlive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/robbie-brady-celtic-transfer-link-20694238) from Burnley was confirmed.

The Irishman was thought to be attracting interest from Turkish side [Gaziantep](https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/transfer-news/robbie-brady-transfer-burnley-gaziantep-21452821), while Swansea City manager Russell Martin labelled Brady as [‘brilliant’](https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/im-getting-texts-every-day-21563360) but appeared to [rule out a move](https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/im-getting-texts-every-day-21563360).

He’s still [without a club](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/robbie-brady/profil/spieler/128229), and it seems as if Celtic Park could well be his next destination.

### The Verdict: Time to swoop?

Even though it’s been fairly hectic off the field at Parkhead recently with Dominic McKay’s [exit](https://www.celticfc.com/news/2021/september/Statement-from-Celtic-Football-Club/), now could be the time for Celtic to make their move.

Ange Postecoglou [directly addressed](https://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/celtic/ange-postecoglou-talks-possible-celtic-signings-as-he-addresses-robbie-brady-speculation-3345045) rumours to Brady last month, so you’d think he’d have a good idea of where he could possibly fit in.

He has plenty of experience at the [top level](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/robbie-brady/leistungsdaten/spieler/128229) and can play on the [wing or as a left-back](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/robbie-brady/leistungsdaten/spieler/128229), which could be handy for the Hoops as the season progresses.
