**[Celtic](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/celtic-news/) are in the final stages of an agreement for Rubin Kazan winger Sead Haksabanovic, Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph reports in the last 48 hours.**

### **The Lowdown: Haksabanovic links**

On Thursday, a report emerged [claiming](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/celtic-news/celtic-sead-haksabanovic-transfer-gossip-news-updates/) that the [Scottish Premiership](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/scottish-premiership-news/) giants were in the process of opening talks with the Russian club over a potential deal for the Montenegro international.

At just 23-years-old, the forward player has a wealth of experience – he has amassed [184 senior appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sead-haksabanovic/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/349300) to date, adding a further [28 national team caps](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sead-haksabanovic/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/349300) to his name.

Since arriving at Rubin Kazan last summer, Haksabanovic has scored once and assisted four times in [23 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sead-haksabanovic/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/349300) for the club.

### **The Verdict: Great addition**

The arrival of Haksabanovic at Celtic Park would provide manager Ange Postecoglou with an alternative option in the final third, allowing for more regular rotation throughout the side’s busy domestic and continental campaign.

According to [Jan Jonsson](https://www.thenational.scot/sport/20673217.sead-haksabanovic-diamond-celtic-move-ange-postecoglou-ideal-fit/), the man who gave Haksabanovic his debut aged just 15 when he was at Halmstads in Sweden, the 23-year-old was “a diamond” in their academy system, having risen to prominence following the publicity surrounding his debut.

Jonsson has [claimed](https://www.thenational.scot/sport/20673217.sead-haksabanovic-diamond-celtic-move-ange-postecoglou-ideal-fit/) “Celtic would be the perfect club for him”, as “it’s a big club … \[which\] would really suit his strengths.”

Having averaged [two key passes and 1.5 dribbles](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/330545/History/Sead-Haksabanovic) per game for his country in World Cup qualifying, the winger would certainly add quality and creativity to Postecoglou’s squad, who will be aiming for the Premiership title again this season.
